Končar showcased a low-floor electric tram for Latvian customer at InnoTrans 2022 Berlin

Berlin’s InnoTrans fair, the world’s largest transport industry and technology fair and the most important for the rail transport and railway infrastructure sector, has ended. This year, from September 20 to 23, more than 145,000 visitors passed through an area of ​​200,000 m2 where they had the opportunity to witness as many as 250 world premieres and see products and technological solutions signed by over 2,830 exhibitors from almost 60 countries. KONČAR was also one of the traditional and prominent exhibitors, as the leading Croatian exporter and regional leader in the energy and rail solutions sector, which represents Croatia at the InnoTrans since 2004, promoting local industry and providing an exceptional contribution to national competitiveness. This year, KONČAR exhibited the latest high-tech rail solutions, including the flagship TMK 2300 LT low-floor tram, which will now continue it journey to Latvia, where it will be delivered to an important European customer.

In 2008 KONČAR introduced the low-floor tram manufactured for the City of Zagreb, followed by the low-floor train in 2010 and the diesel-electric train in 2016. This September KONČAR has again participated in the leading international trade fair for transport technology in Berlin and rolled out another flagship project in the successful series of new solutions. More precisely, KONČAR has revealed the TMK 2300 LT low-floor tram developed and manufactured with proprietary R&D, expertise, tools and tech solutions, for Liepājas Tramvajs in Latvia. This is the thirteenth vehicle in the series of 14 low-floor trams that KONČAR will deliver within the agreement. Latvia has secured as much as 80% of the financing from the EU Comprehensive Reconstruction of Tram Route and Adjacent Territory programme and the partnership confirms the relevance and the reliability of KONČAR’s rail solutions.

This year, KONČAR Group delegation, which exhibited at two display areas, included KONČAR – Electric Vehicles, KONČAR – Electronics and Informatics, KONČAR – Electrical Engineering Institute, KONČAR – Engineering and KONČAR – Generators and Motors. In addition to the new tram, which has been exhibited at the 21 meter-long outdoor and track display area, KONČAR also held an indoor exhibition at the 87 mstand where company has showcased a 1250 kg low-floor train motor with rated power 525 kW and voltage 1000 V which is a product of KONČAR Generators and Motors Ltd.
