New direct agreement for a customer in Austria

In October 2022, following several months od negotiations conducted via teleconferences, and two on-site visits with the customer, KONČAR – Generators and Motors signed the second direct agreement with the Austrian power company Ennskraftwerke.

The customer operates a total of 14 hydropower plants on the Enns and Steyr rivers. With an annual generation of around 1,800 million kilowatt hours, supplied to Verbund and Energie AG Oberösterreich as well as to the Austrian Federal Railways, Ennskraftwerke is one of the largest Austrian producers of electricity from renewable sources.

After the successful completion of the project St. Pantaleon HPP, the new agreement with the Austrian customer was concluded for Losenstein HPP, located 25 kn south of the city of Steyr. The power plant features two sets of generators composed of vertical Kaplan turbines directly connected with three-phase synchronous generators.

KONČAR – Generators and Motors is set to deliver two completely new stators and new rotor poles with an increase in generator power from 20 MVA to 22 MVA, 6.3 kV, 125 rpm, and the agreement also spans disassembly, assembly, monitoring, commissioning and training.

The delivery of the first generator is scheduled for October 2023, followed by the deliver of the second generator a year later, in October 2024.

Field works are expected to be completed in March 2024 for the first generator, and March 2025 is marked as the completion date for the second generator.
