2021 REVIEW
2021 was full of challenges and surprises, both for us and the rest of the world. The pandemic has hampered existing business processes and posed additional challenges in project implementation.
Throughout the pandemic, KONČAR-GIM closely monitored the situation, both internally and in the environment, and adopted preventive measures by the decisions of the Civil Protection Headquarters. In the first place, we care about our employees, so we have implemented the necessary reorganizations in our daily work.
We are extremely proud and grateful to our employees who come to work every day to ensure business continuity. Although we do not expect 2022 to be less challenging than 2021, we continue to implement changes that will have a long-term positive impact on our business.
The changes include the restructuring process of Končar-GIM in the next two years, which includes technical product improvement, digital improvement of the documentation process, development and implementation of a new production planning system, procurement and installation of new machinery, equipment and plants, and modernization and optimization of production facilities.
At the end of the investment cycle, Končar GIM will be modernized and equipped with modern machines and plants that will enhance the development of our products so that quality and innovation remain at the top of the world where our generators and engines belong.
Close cooperation with our business partners has always been our advantage in times of high and low volatility, so we are proud to announce some of the most important contracted projects in 2021:
- Five projects in Sweden that are in the phase of the final installation of generators in the field of commissioning and three projects whose implementation in the field will be in 2022;
- Two new projects for Austria, one of which is the delivery of a new generator, the other the delivery of two generators for a brand new hydropower plant, and one project for Germany for an Austrian investor;
- New project for the revitalization of hydroelectric generators in Iceland;
- Signing of a new contract between Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP) and KONČAR Group companies. As part of the reconstruction and revitalization project, the scope of work includes delivery of equipment, replacement of 3 generators and 3 turbines;
- New major contract in Laos that includes design, production, factory testing and transport of three generators, three excitation systems, three monitoring systems, tools, devices, and spare parts, and supervision of installation and commissioning of 3 new generators 61, 7 MVA; voltage 13.8 kV, 500 rpm.
Through decades of experience in the development and production of generators and a century of experience in the development and production of engines, we continuously develop our product and remain a key supplier of “Tailor-made” products. To ensure quality, we will continue to work with renowned European suppliers of goods and materials and service providers.
